Bio
How I got interested in being a therapist…
I reconnected with an old friend who’d shifted her career trajectory from opera singing to working as a speech therapist at Children’s Hospital. Once I got her to explain what on earth speech therapy was, all I could think was, “Wait, that’s job? How…how do I sign up to do that??” Lo and behold, four years later I was no longer working at a bicycle shop and was finally working at an SLP in hospitals.
What I like about working with kids…
We adults are rarely experiencing very much for the first time, but kids get to do it constantly! I always feel like I’m learning to appreciate the world any time I get to work with a kiddo.
What I like about home care…
Folks are often so much more at ease and natural in home care than in a clinic or a hospital.
What I like to do in my free time…
I love biking, bird watching, and baking bread. I also never turn down a chance to play trivia, and have been known to create covers of Britney Spears songs on the ukulele.
